Dr. Gandaglia – AIRC Grant Recipient

The project “Biological Pathways and Next-Generation Imaging Features Predicting Prostate Cancer Progression in Active Surveillance”, coordinated by Dr. Giorgio Gandaglia, a researcher at URI and the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, has received the My First AIRC Grant (MFAG24) funding. This study aims to identify biological mechanisms and innovative imaging-based biomarkers to improve the selection of low-risk prostate cancer patients suitable for active surveillance. Through the integration of innovative methods including genomics, spatial transcriptomics, immunohistochemistry, and PET/MRI imaging with PSMA, the goal is to develop a predictive model to personalize treatments, reduce unnecessary biopsies, and customize the care pathway.
